About The Taylors

The Taylors

This electrifying mother-daughter duo has been tearing up stages in Nashville, Tennessee, for over a decade. Mom Paula Jo Taylor, famously dubbed “The Viral Granny Guitarist” by Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx, shreds lead guitar with jaw-dropping skill, while daughter Amanda astounds with her powerhouse vocals. The Taylors were recently featured on Chip and Joanna Gaines’ new television show, Second Chance Stage (Episode 5), now streaming on HBO Max and Magnolia Network, where they earned a standing ovation.

Actress and SNL comedian Heidi Gardner said, “I literally did not see that coming — you knocked me out of my seat.”

Country music icon Martina McBride told them, “I can definitely see you on the Grand Ole Opry,”

and actor, dancer, and Broadway star Taye Diggs declared, “You guys can go anywhere... you deserve to be everywhere. It blew me away.”

The Taylors have had the honor of performing live on some of Nashville’s most legendary stages, including WSM Radio (home of the Grand Ole Opry) and The Country Music Hall of Fame. Their television appearances include performances on RFD-TV’s 615 Hideaway and The Huckabee Show (Ambassador Mike Huckabee - U.S. Embassy in Israel), where Paula Jo was recognized as one of “Huck’s Heroes.”

Paula Jo’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Despite battling breast cancer, she never let anything slow her down. Forrest Sanders of Nashville's WSMV-TV featured Paula Jo and Amanda in a segment titled after Amanda’s original song, Plans Change, highlighting Paula Jo’s perseverance. That piece earned Sanders an Emmy, an honor he dedicated to The Taylors. Paula Jo’s cancer journey was also covered by their hometown ABC affiliate WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The Taylors’ talent has been celebrated widely. Guitar World Magazine named Paula Jo one of the Top 10 Female Guitarists, with columnists Laura B. Whitmore, Meilina Dalit, and Tom Gilbert praising her "furious guitar stylings", saying, "This lady will smoke your head off!” A live video of Paula Jo representing Guitar World at Nashville’s Summer NAMM Show went viral, racking up over 6 million views and earning shares by Motley Crue’s, Nikki Sixx across his iHeartRadio stations.

Fan Carol Large summed it up in the Nashville Voyager publication: “Paula Jo is an inspiration to women and musicians of all ages. I loved reading her story!”

In addition to their musical talents, The Taylors are

accomplished actresses. They appear in the Acclaim Films

movie My Perfect Love, alongside well-known actors such as Sam Bass, Brie Burke, and Las Vegas headliner and illusionist Murray Sawchuck.

They continue to perform across the country — including Las Vegas — and play weekly on Nashville’s famed Lower Broadway, one of the hottest tourist spots in the city. Paula Jo and Amanda are grateful for every opportunity but feel especially blessed to be able to share the stage together as mother and daughter.

As Martina McBride put it, “There’s just something really, really special about performing with your parent,”

and Heidi Gardner captured the spirit perfectly, saying, “This is freaking special.”
